R3’s Recovery Committee made a donation to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park to replace an irrigation system in the “Colour Garden” that was heavily damaged by Tropical Storm Grace.
The installation took place this summer in partnership with Vigoro Cayman and the benefits of the system can be enjoyed now as the vegetation is thriving.
John Lawrus, General Manager of the QE II Botanic Park commented that “Despite ongoing supply chain issues causing delays in the project, we are extremely happy with the final product and grateful for the funding assistance from the R3 Cayman Foundation.”
“The park suffered tremendous damage from the storm with many trees falling down destroying the irrigation system beyond repair. We are thankful to Vigoro Nursery who helped us restore the Colour Garden to its former glory,” said Sophie Ebanks-Gibbs, R3’s Recovery Chair.
